John King is playing this week at The Alley, located at 3325 Grand Ave in Oakland. Please come out tonight, Friday May 10 from 9:00 PM - 2:00 AM. If that's too late notice, don't worry, he'll be there again next week on Thursday, May 16, from 9:00 PM - 1:00 AM and Saturday, May 18, from 9:00 PM-2:00 AM. John plays jazz and American songbook standards and takes requests. See you there!

Rod is still sick with the flu. So, John will also be filling in at The Alley tonight, Friday December 2, and possibly tomorrow, December 3. For more information about The Alley, including hours and location, please click here. Come by and sing a song! Music typically starts around 9 pm.

John just found out that Rod needs a sub tonight, Thursday December 1, at The Alley (on Grand avenue in Oakland). Please come out to watch John play!

The Alley is one of the few remaining piano bars in the Bay Area. It is one of a kind. Rod Dibble has played there, 5 nights a week, for the last 50 years! In addition to the music, the bar is also known for it's ambiance. Patrons leave business cards on the wall, and some of the cards also date back 50 years. However, these cards are only one aspect of the decor that makes The Alley a colorful, and truly memorable dive bar.

Many of you might not know that, in addition to his skills as a performer and a teacher, John King is also a composer. This week pianist David Oloachea will play John's Piano Sonata as part of the Piedmont Piano's concert series.

When: November 6 at 4PM
Where: Piedmont Piano Company's new store located at 1728 San Pablo Ave. in Oakland.
